Doing some browsing on the Urban Outfitters sight I found a skirt I fell head over heels for! So vintage, so chic and very original.

Valentine Ballerina

I am not a particular fan of Valentines day, however I am a slave to fashion and in love with ballerina style skirts. I did not intend to wear pink on V day to be festive, but because I plan my outfits far in advance and fail to notice holidays, it happened. However, I suppose festivity is never a very bad thing. Anyways, I found this pink ballerina skirt and decided I simply had to have it. Did I pair it with a girly matchy-match shirt? Heck no! I picked my work-style blouse and a belt. This is one of my favorite looks in a while.

 I decided on loose beachy/messy curls/waves for a hairstyle to go along with the romantic laid back look.

 Hello mile long legs. Takes a special skirt to make that happen for someone of my stature.

Midsummer Night's Dream

In a more whimsical mood this is what I would wear to a red carpet event, such as the upcoming Oscars.

The dress has a braided neckline (silver) with a sort of sweetheart neckline that leads into a mermaid sillhouette. The skirt of the dress is all sheer chiffon (white) and the torso is a deep blue. The sleeves come round the arm in braids (silver) and then have more chiffon (white) draping down from them creating sleeves.

Five Things (but really six)

I didn't do one of these last week so this includes some stuff from then, but I couldnt post because I was sick a majority of last week and so it was hard to take lots of pictures of my five things. However, here we go:
1. I have a country hall of fame calendar, and February just so happens to be Miranda Lambert. I'm feeling like this month will be a good one.

 2. Last week we got two snow days in a row, mostly for cold weather. I love how it looks when it snows.

 3. My friend from out of town visited this weekend and we got some delicious (identical) lunches during our shopping trip.

 4. One morning of the days off we had, my mom bought this delectable treat, a sweet orange roll. If you've never had them, they're amazing, and so simple I can even make them.

 5. My dog has an argyle sweater vest (look at the top of her sweater). She keeps it classsy.

6. People can be quite enjoyable, particularly if you haven't gotten to see them for a while.:)

Hope you've all had at least mediocre Wednesdays (it was discussed and decided its the worst day of the week amongst my friends) and that you buy your dogs classy argyle sweaters.

Open Back

On a nice little shopping trip last weekend I gave in and started buying spring clothes, fully aware that warm weather is not anywhere close here in Boulder, Colorado. And while most of what I bought will be revealed in a few months, I did fall madly in love with a few items that had open backs.

Argyle Adoration

I think argyle sweater vests are just about the greatest thing that has ever occurred on the planet. I think every guy should wear them constantly throughout the winter months because they are just so dang classy. And to my great delight, I found a feminine version of an argyle sweater vest. Enthralled would be an understatement.

  I would also like to highlight the blazer I wore over my sweater, all lace in a pretty flower/leaf design that is slimming and sorta professional while still age appropriate for a fifteen year old. The final documentation of my Christmas present clothes.

My Spring Collection

Looking at collections of great designers (featured here and here) I was rather inspired and one night when plagued with insomnia, a few ideas popped into my head and I quickly scratched them onto some paper. After excluding ones that were clearly affected by sleep deprivation, here is what I would have were I to design my own spring collection:

Inspired by Alexander Wang's collection with the white piece-y look. It would be all white soft, light fabric, wrapped and drappe and tied in knots at the indicated places.

 My second sketch of it to try and make it a little neater and show what the back would look like.

Inspired by Betsey Johnson, this has a fifties/sixties silhouette but with a modern twist for the top. It has a large bow that wraps around a little below the shoulder, and then around the back to the waistline, so there is a sort of cut out on the side, but more elegant and classy. Then the skirt has two draped pieces of silk down it, secured with bows at the hem. Light pink coloring.

 This piece has a bow on the neckline that tops a large braid going down the center of the dress. Then from the braid are drapes of fabric flowing around the entire dress symetrically. Fuschia color or possibly in black.

 This design would be in all black lace. The shoulder are large pieces of black lace draped over the shoulder, not sleeves. The waistband is silk and the skirt has a lace pattern styled hem. The neckline has strands of black fabric vertically from the lower part of the neckline up to the actual finish.

 This one I though of after watching the Alexander McQueen fashion show. It's all white fabric, and has a high neckline. Then white strips of fabric wrap around the waist and then come up to encircle the shoulders. The skirt pieces off and criss crosses white strips of fabric for a hem.

 This is my bright red dress. It has a plunging neckline that is connected by a layer of red mesh fabric. The sleeves are scallops with gold trim. The skirt has big bubles of fabric, three layers, piled on top of eachother in a topsyturvy style.

 This is a variation of the dress above it. It has the same plunging neckline but no red mesh, instead gold trim that matches the same sleeves of scallops with gold trim. The skirt has a scalloped curved hem with gold trim. There is also gold trim around the waistline.
