Fashionable window cover

Yay! Leah got new shutters instead of an ugly window shade for her pretty window seat with the view of a beautiful scenery of mountains! Reading nook complete!

The pretty blanket from Thailand (given to me by family) that I previously used
to cover up my ugly shade when it was all rolled up. Now brainstorming new uses
for this exotic tapestry.

theyre acordian so the dont stick out awkwardly

I quite adore them

You can't quite see the mountains in this one but I promise they're there and
make for an impressive and glorious borderline, especially for sunsets

Updo It Right

I personally always feel slightly defeated whenever I wake up in the morning and either a) have overslept and dont have time to do my hair, or b) no matter what I try to do to my hair, it isn't working and both of these situations result in a ponytail. Before this whole Snooki poof phenomonon I would occasionally do a little baby-poof with my bangs, but now that I am always reminded of the orange reality star, I have refrained. However, I knew I had to think of something classy or intricate to add a little extra something to my ponytail, to hide the fact that I had only thirty minutes to get ready that morning and make it more than some regular old overdone updo. So this weekend I experimented with frenchbraid pony tails and loved it. I simply frenchbraided one side of my hair (you can leave bangs in or out depending on their length) and then pulled it up into a pony tail. No longer boring, TA-DA! (This also feuled my current obsession with different ways I can style my hair with the use of braids)

500 Days of Olivya

If you've ever watched the movie 500 Days of Summer, take a look at her very fabulous and eclectic apartment shown throughout the movie. My dear friend Olivya recently moved and got to totally redesign her room, and she used the apartment from the movie as an inspiration. Must I say, her room turned out fabulously. Not as wild and out there, but so chic, classy and overall amazing. (Note: loveddd Summer's wardrobe in the movie, but not as into the actual plot. A little sad for my taste.)
love her bed, adorable comforter with buttons, and also very cozy

Her cute (but often ill behaved) cat Dax, who I always play with,
only to remember I am allergic once my sneezing fits start

centerpiece pillows that go with the wallpaper

Her window seat with beautiful blue curtains (also LOVE the curtain holders)
and classy picture of Audrey Hepburn, which will be hung sometime in
the near future

basic brown desk with beautiful wallpaper/paint
(I like that her room isn't overdone. It has basic pieces with
great accents, just like fashion should have)
Sadly I forgot to get a picture of her chandelier, very very classy, I wish I had one.

Mani Pedi (DELTA)

I rarely make the effort of going to the salon for nails, as mine are stubby, short and disgraceful (partially because I'm not allowed to grow them out since I play violin, partially because I can't help but pick at them) and I am fully convinced all nail technicians hate me because of this. So for the last few years, my only manicures or pedicures have been the result of friend's parties (such as my severely chipped one best seen in You Know it's Winter When..). However, when my Young Life leader Kara offered, I simply couldn't resist, and so we went during my very long lunch break. (My school has a wierd schedule). It was fun and nice to relax in the middle of a stressfull day with one of my very favorite people. Only downside was that with my minimal experience with mani pedi's, I had no idea it would cost $50. Good thing to know for next time!

Amazingly, I have yet to chip the nail polish (a truly incredible feat)
or cut/pick at my nails

And a Touch of Lace

Look at any store this season, and there will be an abundance of lace. (Nordstrom called it a few months ago, and I didn't believe them at first but as usual, they were so right.) Personally, I love lace. It's classy and feminine and adds elegance to the items it embellishes. I bought a lace shirt at Wet Seal a couple of weeks ago and love it. It's surprisingly comfortable and so adorable.

(I like to pair my shirt with a black tank top underneath since it's white,
to show off the intricate design. )

Extra: Obssessed with this lace dress from Anthropologie. So vintage,
classic and has an air of simplistic grace.

I Whip My Hair Back and Forth

Title: reference to Willow Smith's new song that my friends sing at any and every opportunity
I for one, am not a morning person. At all. I hate waking up at 6 am or earlier if I want to do anything half-way decent with my hair. I have naturally wavy hair, but I love krimping it to get some extra texture and add interest. However, as krimping my hair takes forty minutes and also damages your hair after a while, I decided on another technique. Instead of metal crushing my hair, I simply braid it at night (after a shower, while damp but not dripping) and sleep on it. When I wake up, styling my hair takes about three minutes. I take out the braids and head out the door. It's fast easy and simple. (Also SO much better for your hair)

disclaimer: I always let my hair dry halfway, otherwise you wake up with wet braids
which sort of defeats the purpose since your hair doesnt hold the shape.

I have a lot of hair and so I have a lot of braids

Raw and Refined

A couple weeks ago I bought a new necklace from Nordstrom on sale and finally got the opportunity to wear it today. I adore it. A pink ribbon, wrapped and tangled with rustic gold chains, and decked, draped, dripping with long chains of rhinestones. Being adorned with such antique-feeling and yet so modern of a necklace gives me setniments of a more elegant stately antiquated times. This necklace reminds me of a mix of raw and refined beauty.
